Distribution
At a recent Board of Directors meeting there was quite a lengthy discussion of ways to balance our budget. One thing we are trying this month (July) is printing only hard copies of the Prospector for those who do not have computers and the ability to see it at our website.
It currently costs more than $1 to produce the hard copies and mail them to each member or family. If you have an email address we will send a notice when a new edition of the Prospector is ready for viewing.
To see the Prospector on our website, simply select the menu option at the top "Newsletter" and select the issue desired.
If you wish to receive notice of new "The Prospector" issues, drop us an email at spswebmaster@comcast.net
Happy
Independence Day
The Fourth of July is upon us and so is our time to celebrate our national freedoms. How many stamps have been issued with themes that surround the history of our nations freedom? The only answer I can give at this point is "LOTS"!
The above stamp featured in our logo this month may not be the traditional flag and fireworks, but I felt taking a look at something unexpected would be nice for a change.
The "Statue of Freedom on Capitol Dome" stamp was released in Washington, D.C. on April 20, 1950. There were 200 Subject Plates used and 132,090,000 stamps issued.
Happy Independence Day America! May Freedom Ring!
